Dermatologic Surgery, the official journal of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, gave a full special issue to managing the aesthetic fallout of GLP-1 weight loss, guest-edited by ASDS president Kavita Mariwalla, MD, per coverage on June 24, 2026. The clinical focus list reads like the consultations clinics are already fielding: facial volume loss, skin laxity, sagging skin, and GLP-1-associated hair loss after rapid weight loss. For an operator, the signal is that this topic has moved from social-media curiosity to formal standard-of-care discussion in a peer-reviewed dermatology journal.

The more useful line is the editors' own caveat. They concede that "observation is moving faster than evidence" in this area, which is a flag worth keeping in mind before you build a fixed "post-GLP-1" protocol or market one. Contributors include injectors such as Sachin M. Shridharani, MD and Sabrina Fabi, MD, with industry support from Allergan Aesthetics, Galderma and Kenvue.

If you treat weight-loss patients, the issue is worth pulling for your own reference, with the editors' caution that clinical judgment, not a published recipe, still leads.
