Numeco, a Medytox subsidiary, received MFDS marketing approval for Newlux Inj. 200 Units, a botulinum toxin type A, as reported June 23, 2026. The 200-unit vial carries twice the active ingredient of the standard 100-unit formulation, aimed at procedures that need larger doses such as masseter or body work, and at export competitiveness. Numeco describes it as the first 900-kDa botulinum toxin made with animal-component-free culture media, with reduced chemical processing meant to limit protein denaturation.

If you are a US clinic this is background noise for now, but for the many clinics outside the US that buy Korean toxin, it points to two trends worth tracking: expanding higher-dose, lower-cost Korean supply, and a move toward animal-free formulations. Production runs at Medytox's Osong Plant No. 3, and the company frames the product as a base for future global regulatory filings. Worth keeping an eye on if Korean toxin is part of your supply chain.
